The new head office and distribution center of Suzuki Auto South Africa (Suzuki SA) has begun construction in Longlake Logistics Park in Gauteng.

The thriving car importer will move to a specially planned 24 507 m² facility to support its growing activities and workers, replacing its current headquarters at Linbro Business Park. The footprint of the warehouse alone will be 19,100 m².

By the middle of next year, the construction is expected to be finished. In an exceptionally short time, Suzuki SA has surpassed primarily local automakers to take the second spot in the domestic new-vehicle market. The Japanese importer was still ranked sixth in the local market at the start of 2021.

Less than five years ago, in September 2020, the company had just finished moving to its new headquarters and 1,600-square-meter warehouse in the Linbro Business Park.

The automobile manufacturer saw a 42% increase in warehouse space as a result of the move. Shortly after Suzuki SA announced 1,213 new car sales for July, the 2020 move was made. Currently, sales are about 6,000 units per month.

In addition to celebrating 17 years of sales success, Suzuki SA believes its new headquarters strengthens its long-term commitment to the South African market.
The new building will have a workshop, a 100-seater canteen, boardrooms, training facilities, and 2,900 square meters of office space in addition to the new warehouse.

Berto Van Der Lith, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Suzuki SA, said, "This move marks a significant chapter in our journey."

“Our new headquarters will allow for further improvements in our current operations and support the growth we foresee in the coming years."
